Sri Lanka have defeated India by 112 runs to salvage some pride in a series that was entorely dominated by the visitors. India have won the series 3-2.

End of Match

Sri Lanka's bowlers decimated the Indian batting as Kulasekara and Mendis bagged four wickets each to ensure the hosts wrapped off the last match of the series in style. However, India have won the series 3-2.

27th Over: WICKET! Ojha tried to blast Mendis out of the park but holds out in the in field. And that is it. Sri Lanka have won by 112 runs (D/L).

26th Over : WICKET! RP tried to swing an away going delivery from Fernando out of the park but manages to edge it to the slip cordon. Munaf Patel is the last batsmen in. He gets off the mark with a crisp boundary. India are 99 for nine.

25th Over: Mendis continues. WICKET! Mendis has trapped Zaheer bang in front of the wickets. India are crumbling away. Ojha is the new man in. That one spun away sharply. It's a wicket maiden. India are 91 for eight.

23rd Over: WICKET! Mendis lures Pathan to edge it to Warnapura at second slip. He is off the mark. India are 91 for seven.

20th Over: Fernando steaming into Dhoni. WICKET! Fernando got one to sneak past Dhoni's defence. India are now as well as out of the game. Zaheer Khan is the new man in. And he gets off the mark. India are 88 for six.

19th Over: Mendis into the attack. WICKET! Yuvraj fails to read the slider and an inside edge disturbs the soutpaw's defence. Irfan Pathan is the new man in. FOUR! Pathan hammers it down to the long on fence. What a way to get off the mark. He taks a single to retain strike. India are 84 for five.

17th Over: WICKET! Kulasekara has rapped Sharma on the pads. The umpire upholds the appeal. TV replays showd the ball hit Sharma outside the off stump. MS Dhoni walks in to join his deputy, Yuvraj. India are 76 for four.

16th Over: Fernando introduced into the attack. Sharma gets off the mark with a single. Yuvraj on strike. A wide. A bit ofa harsh call by the umpire. A single. India are 74 for three.

15th Over: FOUR! Raina knocks that way to the fence. WICKET! Raina plays a horrible shot and Dilgara Fernando completes a good catch. And there it comes. Rains have again lashed the Preamdasa again. Play has resumed after th rain intervened. Rohit Sharma is the new man in. India are 70 for three.

11th Over: Kohli on strike to Kulasker. WICKET! Kulasekara has trapped Kohli plumb in front of the wickets. Sureah Raina joins Yuvraj in the middle. FOUR! Yuvraj gets off the mark in style. India are 50 for two.

10th Over: FOUR! Kohli carves that past point. Just the boundary off the over. India are 42 for one.

9th Over: FOUR! Kohli whips it away off his pads. Kulasekara on his way to Gambhir, with Sangakkara standing up. WICKET! He has nicked it to Sanga. Yuvraj Singh is the new man in. India are 38 for one.

8th Over: Gambhir taps Thusahra for a single and brings Kohli on strike. He whips it away for a quick double. The pair is running very hard between the wickets. Briiliantly judged single helps Kohli retain strike. India are 33 without loss.

7th Over: Gambhir gets a single to let the more aggresive Kohli face up to Kulasekara. He turns it around for two runs. India are 29 without loss.

6th Over: Kohli on strike to Thushara. FOUR! Kohli gets that past cover like lightening. India are 24 without loss.

5th Over: SIX! Kohli rocks on to the backfoot and blasts it over mid wicket. India are 20 without loss.

4th Over: FOUR! Gambhir smacks that square of the wicket. What a shot! FOUR! Gambhir glides it to third man. India are 11 without loss.

3rd Over: Kohli on strike to Kulasekara. The ball is moving around under the lights. Rapped on the pads. Huge appeal. Not out, says the umpire. The ball might have been a little high. Kohli does well to duck under the quickish bouncer. It's another maiden. India are two without loss.

2nd Over: Thushara on his way to Gambhir. A huge appeal for a catch behind the stumps. Turned down. TV replays show there was a slight edge. Gambhir was lucky. He is off the mark.India are away. Kohli gets off the mark too. India are two without loss.

India, 1st OVER: Nuwan Kulasekara on his way to Virat Kohli. A magnificent over. It's a maiden. India are zero for no loss.

End of Innings

Two of India's comeback bowlers Oja and Pathan put India in a great position by grabbing four quick wickets between themselves. However, Thushara, who blazed away to his maiden fifty and Mubarak helped Sri Lanka reach a decnt total.

50th Over: Patel to bowl the last over of the innings. Thushara plays it away to fine leg for two. Mubarak launches into that one but the ball landed in no man's land. Thushara swings it away for a single and end up with a fighting total. Sri Lanka are 227 for six.

48th Over: Thusahra negates a yorker off Zaheer to pick up a single and bring up his fifty, his first in ODI's. Sri Lanka are 214 for six.

47th Over: Irfan Pathan back into the attack for his last over. FOUR! Thushara goes for a wild swing and the edge takes the ball to the fence over the vacant slip cordon. The 200 comes up for Sri Lanka. He hits it hard down the ground and picks up a single. Another single. FOUR! Thushara swings and the edge takes it over the wicketkeeper's head to the fence. Another single. Three runs off another edge. Sri Lanka are 210 for six.

46th Over: Zaheer back into the attack. Just three runs off the over. Sri Lanka are 195 for six.

45th Over: Ojah back for his last over. Thushara on strike. He has got the ball to spin almost square today. Two runs. Two more runs to end the over. Sri Lanka are 192 for six.

37th Over: Ojha to Kapugedera. FOUR! That goes to the fence. WICKET! Kapugedera takes one chance too many and Ojha has his man as RP SIngh takes an easy catch in the deep. Thilan Thushara is the new man in. Sri Lanka are 133 for six.

29th Over: WICKET! Ojha has picked up Jaywardene. This is a huge breakthrough. That is the fifth Sri Lankan wicket down. Jehan Mubarak is the new man in. It is a wicket maiden. Sri Lanka are 104 for five.

25th Over: Ojha takes a return catch off Chamara Kapugedera. The Inbdians leap in joy but the batsman stands his ground. However, a TV referral shows the ball had bounced before Ojha pouched it. It's a maide. Sri Lanka are 96 for four.

19th Over: RP continues. WICKET! That is the end of Kumara Sangakkra who has edged it to first slip. Sri Lanka are now well and truly in trouble.

18th Over: WICKET! Warnapura miscues a lofted shot over covers and holds out to Gautam Gambhir. That was really unncessary. He was going so nicely for his team. Kumara Sangakkara is the new man in. Uddawate taps it around for a single to get Sanga on strike. He is off the mark. WICKET! Irafan has his second in the over as he strikes Uddawate on the pads. The umpire upholds the appeal for LBW. Mahela Jaywardene joins Sangakkara joins Sanga. A wide. Sri Lanka are 81 for three.

17th Over: RP to Warnapura. RP is keeping a tight leash at least in this over. FOUR! Warnapura glided it nicely past the vacant slip cordon. Sri Lanka are 77 for one.

13th Over: RP SIngh introduced into the attack. FOUR! Warnapura smashes that away to the fence. A single gets Uddawate on strike. FOUR! Uddawate carves that away through the off side field. The fifty comes up for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka are 53 for one.

10th Over: Zaheer continues. The scoreboard is just not ticking over for Sri Lanka. Uddawate is very late with his shots. FOUR! Uddawate gets a fine touch to the short ball and the ball whizzes away to the fence. Sri Lanka are 28 for one.

9th Over: Patel to Uddawate. That one moved away a bit. Three runs off the over. Sri Lanka are 24 for one.

8th Over: Uddawate on strike to Zaheer. A no ball and a FREE HIT. Uddawate goes too hard at that one and manages only a single. FOUR! Uddawate went hard at that one and the thick edge flew past slips to the fence. Sri Lanka are 20 for one.

7th Over: Uddawate turns Patel nicely off his pads. Picks up three runs. What happened there? Patel tried to throw one back at Warnapura but he nudged it away with the bat. Some confrontaion between the Lankan batsmen and Patel with Yuvraj joining. Sri Lanka are 11 for one.

6th Over: Uddawate on strike to Zaheer. He manages to push it away for a single at last. Warnapura faces up. He drives down the ground but no runs. Sri Lanka are eight for one.

5th Over: Patel to Warnapura. Three dot balls on the trot. It's a amiden. Sri Lanka are seven for one.

4th Over: FOUR! Uddawate gets off the mark in style, driving it through covers. Zaheer almost had his man as the southpaw tried to cut an away going delivery periliously close to his body. Sri Lanka are seven for one.

3rd Over: Patel continues as Warnapura gets off the mark. That was a tight single and Warnapura could have been in trouble had the fielder at short cover hit. Uddawate swings ans misses. Sri Lanka are two for one.

2nd Over: Zaheer Khan on from the other end. Jayasuriya has an almighty swing and misses. Zak is getting it to swing alright. WICKET! Jayasuriy swishes a widish delivery straight down to Pragyan Ojha at third man. The new man in is Mahela Uddawate and lets the first one go. Sri Lanka are one for one.

I am Rajarshi Gupta, your commentator for the day. India have already won the series and have decided to rest Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar and S. Badrinath to let some of the resreves play a game.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka, who won the toss and decided to bat first, have also rested key bowlers Muttiah Muralitahran and Chaminda Vaas to include Dilhara Fernando and Mahela Uddwate have a go at the Indian batsmen. Tillekratne Dilshan has also been dropped so that Jehan Mubarak gets a look in.
