Kiwi all-rounder Jesse Ryder has pledged to curb the behaviour that has threatened to derail his fledgling career.

Ryder was recalled to the Black Caps squad for their October tour of Bangladesh six months after a hand injury sustained in an after-hours incident in Christchurch ended his season.

The Wellington left-hand bat missed out on a Test debut and a tour of England, but was recalled after proving his fitness in a development tournament in Brisbane in July.

His call-up means he will again open the batting with Brendon McCullum in limited overs matches, and is likely to receive his debut Test cap against the Tigers.

And Ryder told The Dominion Post: "There definitely can be no more stuff-ups otherwise I'm gone.

"I'm stoked they have shown faith in me so it is good to be back in there and hopefully I can establish my spot now.

"The hand was fine through that, I didn't have any problems. I'm not feeling anything at all, apart from the odd bit of stiffness. There were no problems fielding in Aussie."
