Aussie security fears blown away
Team Australia skipper Ricky Ponting says the tightened security has made them feel comfortable despite the Delhi blasts.
By Ranabir Majumdar & Shreyas Sharma"We haven't sat down together as a group and spoken to each other about this, but I can tell you we are very comfortable," he said.
The tightemed security around the team after the weekend blasts have certainly blown away any concerns the Australians may have had after the national capital was repeatedly targeted by terrorists over the last few weeks.
Middle order batsman Michael Hussey also said he had "100 per cent faith in the security" provided.
Fast bowler Stuart Clark, who had earlier voiced concerns about security following the bomb blasts in Delhi over the last two weeks, said "the apprehensions have been allayed".
"It was unfortunate what happened the other night in Delhi, but the security we have is excellent and we feel very comfortable about everything that's going on, at least I do," he said in Hyderabad on Tuesday
"You always like your freedom to get out and look around and obviously with the stuff that has gone on there was a little concern but Cricket Australia and the ACA and people like that will give the right advice," he added.
"The players are very comfortable with the hyped up security that we have in place. If that continues throughout the tour then we won't have any more concerns."
Meanwhile, BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla met the Union Home Secretary on Tuesday to ask for additional security, which incudes sharp shooters in the venues.
