A look at the stats highlights of the third day's play in the first Test between India and Australia at Bangalore on Saturday.

- Sachin Tendulkar, during his innings of 13, has established another record. He is the leading run-getter on Indian soil, taking his run-aggregate to 5,069 at an average of 54.50, including 16 centuries and 21 fifties in 64 Tests, surpassing Sunil Gavaskar's run-aggregate of 5,067 at an average of 50.16 in 65 Tests, including 16 centuries and 23 fifties.

- Since posting 153 against Australia at Adelaide in January 1998, Tendulkar is without a fifty in his last nine innings. His sequence of scores has been 13, 0, 27, 12, 5, 31, 6, 14 & 13.

- Tendulkar, during the course of his innings of 13, became the second batsman to amass 500 runs at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore - 509 at an average of 50.90, including one century and two fifties. Sunil Gavaskar, with 600 runs at an average of 54.54, including two centuries and three fifties, in 8 Tests is the leading run-getter at this venue.

- Rahul Dravid's 51 off 104 balls is his 53rd fifty in Test Cricket - his 11th against Australia.

- Dravid's aforesaid fifty is his second at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore - both his fifties at this venue have come against Australia. In the 2004-05 Test against Australia at this venue, he had made 60 off 188 balls.

- In seven Tests at this venue, he has averaged only 23.08 - 277 in 12 innings at a strike rate of 31.29.

- Mitchell Johnson (4/62) produced his best bowling performance against India, bettering his 4 for 86 at Perth in January 2008.

- Johnson's aforesaid performance is his second best in Test cricket - his best being 4 for 41 against West Indies at Bridgetown in June this year.

- Sourav Ganguly's 47 is his highest in eight innings.

- Laxman's second duck against Australia is his tenth in Test Cricket.

- In six Tests at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, Laxman has averaged just 21.25 - 170 runs in ten innings, including a fifty - 79 not out against Pakistan in March 2005.

- Gautam Gambhir's wicket is Brett Lee's first Test wicket in India.

- Mahendra Singh Dhoni (9) is without a fifty against Australia in nine innings (5 Tests). His highest against them has been 38 at Perth in January 2008.

- Harbhajan Singh (54) registerd his first fifty in Indian soil. Overall, he has recorded five fifties in Test Cricket - three against Australia and one each against England and Zimbabwe.

- Harbhajan's previous highest in India was 42 against Australia at Bangalore in 2004-05.

- Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan put on 80 runs for the eighth wicket, India's best partnership of the innings - an Indian record against Australia at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, eclipsing the 31 between Parthiv Patel and Anil Kumble in 2004-05. The 80-run stand is the second best overall at this venue - the highest being 84 between Ravi Shastri and Kiran More against New Zealand in 1988-89.
