Watson turns it around for Oz

Shane Watson played some attacking shots and with Haddin place Australia in a good position on day four of the first Test.

STUMPS

Australia have taken a lead of 260 runs, thanks to some gritty batting by Watson and Haddin. Harbhajan and Ishant bowled brilliantly to grab two wickets each to push the visitors on the backfoot early on.

Watson and Haddin have suddenly changed the complexion of the Test, scoring quick runs and sending Kumble's calculations for a toss. Another fifty runs and India could start to feel the pinch again.

Harbhajan has bowled brilliantly throughout the day. He has sent back Katich, who was looking solid in the middle and just resulted in the dismissal of Hussey.

India's pacers are doing the trick. Ishant has joined Zaheer to push Australia into a further spot of trouble, sending back Ricky Ponting, who scored a brilliant ton in the first essay.

Zaheer is on fire in Bangalore. He has sent back Hayden, for the second time in the match. The wicket, remember, is wearing down big time. The Australians have their task cut out. However, the bad news for India is that Kumble might not be able to bowl for the remainder of the day. He is out with a shoulder injury.

IMAGES OF THE DAY!

Morning session

Lunch has been taken with Australia leading by 79 runs on a crumbling wicket. The star of the morning session was clearly Zaheer Khan, who scored a fine fifty to go with his five wicket haul. A lot would now depend on how India's spinners bowl post lunch. The wicket does not look like getting any better.

Pre-Action

Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan showed last afternoon what it takes to gut it out on a difficult surface. The game is nicely set even with India still trailing by a few runs. This morning, the hosts would look firward to the composure of skipper Anil Kumble to see how close they can get ti the Australian total. Zaheer is the man to watch out for today.
