Indian pacer Zaheer Khan took a dig at the Australian team, saying he has never seen such a defensive Aussie team before.

Zaheer, who bagged the Man-of-the-Match award for his superb all-round show said: "I was surprised to see how defensive the Australians were. I have never seen such a defensive Aussie side before."

"They played defensive cricket throughout and we were happy with that. This definitely gives us a high ground."

The left-arm seamer said things could not have got better for him in the Test. He picked up five wickets in the first innings and then went on to score an unbeaten fifty in a crucial partnership with Harbhajan Singh when India were down in the dumps.

Speaking about Bhajji, Zaheer said the off spinner always had some advice for him during the partnership: "Bhajji kept telling me to play straight, get to the pitch of the ball and concentrate. He would crack jokes to ease the pressure a bit."

Zaheer promised to keep raising the bar constantly.

He was also effusive in his praise for new ball partner Ishant Sharma.

"It is very special to share the new ball with him. He gets the ball to bounce and works great pace."

Zaheer has had a wonderful time on the field over the last year and by the look of things, he can only get better.
