Bond unlikely to return
Shane Bond has indicated he would be reluctant to resurrect his career with New Zealand even if his current ban was lifted.
The 33-year-old fast bowler was banned from all official cricket by the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZCB) earlier this year after he signed for the unsanctioned Indian Cricket League (ICL).
But with ICL officials set to meet members from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) a deal to sanction the rebel tournament may not be long coming.
Such a resolution would therefore pave the way for Bond's ban to be lifted and resume his Black Caps career.
However, Bond is not sure he would willingly re-submit his injury-prone body to the rigours of the international game.
"I don't know. It's a chapter I've sort of shut in some respects," he told RadioSport.
"I'm not getting any younger, I'm 33 now - the grind of international cricket is hard work.
"If a decision is made in the near future I'll sit down with Trace (his wife Tracy) and have a chat about it - but I've got a pretty good lifestyle now.
"I can play in India for four months, the rest of the time I'm at home with my three kids - it's worked out pretty good."
Bond's promising career before his ban was blighted by injury, particularly to his back, as he managed just 17 Tests in seven years.
Despite his injuries the paceman still managed to take 79 wickets at an average of 22.4, while his one-day international record reads even better with 125 wickets at 19.3.
Should Bond make a return it would most likely only be in the ODI and Twenty20 forms of the game as he had already announced his Test retirement before his ban.
