PCA dismiss Koertzen incident

The PCA dismissed reports of an unsavoury incident involving umpire Rudi Koertzen and some Indian players on Saturday.

"No incident of that sort has happened where Koertzen asked some of the players to get down from his car," PCA Joint Secretary G S Walia said.

Walia said, in fact, Sachin Tendulkar's wife Anjali had requested the PCA to arrange a cab as the couple wanted to leave immediately for the hotel after today's match.

He said that once Tendulkar and his wife sat in the cab, some Indian players, including Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh also joined them. But the car was not allowed to proceed because there was no space for any security official to sit in the cab.

"As Harbhajan and Zaheer remained seated, Tendulkar and his wife got down and took another cab, " Walia said.
