Kallis consults Fletcher

South Africa's Jacques Kallis has turned to former England coach Duncan Fletcher to help him out of a batting slump.

Kallis had an awful England tour, scoring just 104 runs at an average of 14.85, and with a Test series against Australia beckoning, the Proteas desperately need him to be on top form.

The batsman turned to former mentor Fletcher, who used to coach him at Western Province.

"I think fatigue contributed a lot to the way I played in England," Kallis told Afrikaans Sunday newspaper Sondag.

"So I called Duncan because I believe he is one of the best batting coaches in the world."

Kallis' agent Dave Rundle added: "He found a very big technical fault in the way Jacques is playing. I believe we will see a big difference this season with Duncan's influence now that Jacques and Mark Boucher are working with him."

South Africa will first face Bangladesh and Kenya before taking on the Australians.
