Mohali win: India's biggest ever
India fetched their biggest ever win when they trounced Australia by 320 runs in Mohali in the fifth day of the second Test.
Australia, needing 516 to win, were bowled out for 195, handing India their most convincing win in terms of runs.
India betterd the 280 runs difference they had pulped out South Africa with way back in 1996-97 on a warm, clear day in Mohali with a style that only an aggressive captain like MS Dhoni could have done.
India, had two years back also pounded Sri Lanka by 259 runs in Ahmedabad in 2005-06. Australia also feature second in India's list of innings wins. A Mohammad Azaruddin led team had crushed Australia by an innings and 239 runs in Kolkata in the summer of 1998.
What this victory has done for Indian and world cricket will only show in the months to come. But the Mohali triumph has come at a time when Australia were ruling the roost in world cricket. India's biggest win has come against the best team in the world. The South African team in 1996 was brilliant but no where as dynamic as the Ricky Ponting led side.
Azhar had led his team against the Proteas on a square turner in Kanpur, where Anil Kumble spat venom.
Rest assure, world cricket is set to see some massive transformation. No matter whichever way the four Test series goes from here, India are the team to watch out for.
