Tait offers his reverse swing

Australian pacer Shaun Tait says he is ready with his reverse swing if selectors pick him for the remaining two Tests in India.

Tait, who took a break from the game in January, took 5-27 for South Australia against New South Wales at Adelaide Oval, playing only his third domestic game since returning to cricket field.

"If picked and conditions suited I could bowl reverse swing but I would have still have to bowl well," said Tait, who bowled the reverse-swing brilliantly in the match.

"Reverse swing can play a key role in my bowling. It's up to selectors and I am concentrating on the next game for the Redbacks," he said.

Tait said Australians were yet to master the art of reverse swing.

"Traditionally the Indians have been good exponents of reverse swing and I think we still have a bit to learn about it in Australia," Tait was quoted as saying by the 'Daily Telegraph'.

National selector Jamie Cox, who was also present at Adelaide, also conceded that Australia needed to learn the art and remained positive that they will be successful in doing that.

"It does seem to be an issue. I am sure Troy Cooley is working hard with the bowlers in developing that. It caused us some grief in England in 2005 as a batting group. We need to take that on and as a bowling group work out how to benefit from it," said Cox.
