The ICC has said it might reconsider its decision on the Oval Test played between Pakistan and England.

The outcome of the 2006 Oval Test had originally been decided in favour of England after Pakistan players refused to take the field protesting against the ball-tampering charge levelled on them by umpire Darell Hair, who was later sacked by the ICC and then re-instated after a legal battle.

However, mounting pressure from Pakistan cricket authorities forced the ICC to overturn the result of the match into a draw in the record books.

In their two-day meeting in New Delhi last week, the Marylebone Cricket Club, the London-based custodians of cricket's laws, urged the ICC to revoke its last decision on the Oval Test and award England a victory.

During the the launch of the 2009 women's World Cup in Sydney today, ICC President David Morgan agreed with the MCC and said the governing body can reassess the decision.

"It was a decision that was made by the ICC and it's a decision that I was not happy with," Morgan told reporters.

"I was president-elect that time and I didn't believe it was appropriate to change the result of the England-Pakistan match," he added.

Morgan said before taking any call he would like to carefully go through the details of the recent MCC World Cricket Committee meeting.
