Mohammad Yousuf joins ICL

Mohammad Yousuf's Pakistan future is in the balance after he reportedly joined the Indian Cricket League.

Yousuf, who initially signed up for the rebel league in 2007 before being talked out of it by the Pakistan Cricket Board, reportedly arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday and will join the current edition of the tournament, which has a fortnight left to run.

PCB director of cricket operations Zakir Khan said: "(Yousuf's) wife told us on the telephone that he has left for India today to play in the ICL.

"He did not inform us about his travel plans to India and we are trying to contact him directly."

A move to the rebel league would seem likely to end Yousuf's international career.

Boards around the world have banned ICL-contracted players from their national teams under pressure from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

The PCB has previously barred players including Azhar Mahmood, Abdul Razzaq and Imran Farhat both from Pakistan duty and from all domestic cricket for joining the league.

Yousuf has been named by the PCB in their squad for the one-day series against West Indies in Abu Dhabi which begins on November 12, four days before the scheduled end of the ICL season.

The ICL launched a legal challenge, which remains unresolved, after Yousuf withdrew from the tournament last year to join the rival Indian Premier League.
