Yuvraj: My best knock ever
Yuvraj Singh, who bagged the Man of the Match award for his unbeaten 138 against England said it was his best knock.
"I think with the way I was hitting the ball and the way my bat swung through the innings, it was my best knock in ODI's."
"I was timing the ball well and happy with the runs I got at the end of the day."
The stylish left-handed batsman, who has had a tough time over the last few months said he had thought about the things he needed to do. Yuvraj struggled with his form over the last two ODI series and failed to make a mark in the domestic season.
"It has been a tough few months for me. I thought about the things I needed to do and I am very happy with my effort."
Yuvraj did not forget to mention the other batsmen who helped him in building the massive total of 387 for five.
"The guys around me batted very well. (Suresh) Raina, (Virender) Sehwag and (Gautam) Gambhir scored at a great pace and laid the perfect foundation for me to take my time and plan an assault in the later stages."
"I knew if one of us stayed till the end, 350 would be possible."
Yuvraj did not read much into his back injury, which forced him to bat with a runner through his innings.
"I just pulled off a muscle and I will be hopefully fit for the next match."
Gambhir, who ran for Yuvraj was completely in awe of his teammate's knock: "It was perhaps one of the best knocks I have ever seen."
Indian pacer Zaheer Khan and a good friend of Yuvi's said he saw the southpaw smile after a long time: "He has been through some tough time but he came back well and it was nice to actually see him smile after a long time."
