2nd ODI match - Zimbabwe v SA

Sean Williams returns for Zimbabwe

All-rounder Sean Williams has replaced Timycen Maruma in the Zimbabwe squad for the second ODI against Sri Lanka.

Williams, who was one of the reserves for the series, has been called up after Maruma was withdrawn from the squad on Thursday after injuring his left shoulder.

Maruma had to be helped off the field after colliding with team-mate Chamunorwa Chibhabha.

Following attention from physiotherapist Amato Machikicho, it was decided that Maruma takes a three-day rest although chances are that he might miss the remainder of the series.

Zimbabwe captain Prosper Utseya is confident of an improved performance in the second one-dayer.

Zimbabwe reached 124/3 in 27 overs on Thursday, but lost the last seven wickets for just three runs in 23 balls before Sri Lanka clinched a six-wicket victory with 100 balls to spare.

"We had a long meeting and a long training session on Friday, working on the shortcomings from Thursday's game and I'm hoping the guys will implement what we discussed and practised in Saturday's game," said Prosper.

"Looking at what happened on Thursday, the best way to handle Sri Lanka will be to preserve our wickets against the seamers so that when the spinners come in we have eight or nine wickets in hand.

"Their (Sri Lanka) seamers are nothing out of this world and so we should be able to handle them and have enough batsmen to face the spinners from the 20th over onwards."
