India tour of Pakistan in doubt
India's tour of Pakistan next month is in doubt after Indian government officials yet again raised security concerns.
With India due play their arch rivals from January 6 to February 19, New Delhi officials are set to fly to Pakistan in the very near future in a bid to ascertain if Team India's safety can be assured during their stay.
Sources close to the heart of the matter admit that doubts have, however, already been raised as to whether it is worth jeopardising the well-being of players such as Sachin Tendulkar.
The same sources also revealed that the risk of undertaking the tour is high considering the prevailing security situation in Pakistan and that "no sensible government" would be willing to take it.
"The risk is not worth running," they said.
The sources also cited the recent terror attack on a national sporting event in Peshawar as an example of the poor security situation in Pakistan.
