England skipper Kevin Pietersen said his team was done in by Virender Sehwag, who carved out an Indian win.

Pietersen said, though his boys gave India a great run for their money, Sehwag proved to be the difference:"We were done in by India and Sehwag. We had a great game though and the boys gave all they had."

Speaking at the post match presentation, the middle order batsman said it has been a great learning experience for his side, coming from a 4-0 thrashing of South Africa back home.

"We beat South Africa and then we ran across a rampaging Indian team. They beat Australia in the Test series and then beat us. India are playing some good cricket at the moment."

Pietersen said Engalnd would like to be competitive despite traling 4-0 in the seven match ODI series: "We came here to win the series but we failed to do it. Now, we need to win a few games."

"We need to be competitive for the remaining three games and take some pride back."
