Akram: Don't change winning combination
Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram suggested India should not change the entire combination for the three remaining games.
Speaking to Mobile ESPN, the legendary Sultan of swing said India should look to make a clean sweep of the seven match seris after taking an unbeatable 4-0 lead.
"Knowing MS Dhoni, I am sure he will go for a whitewash. However, I would suggest India does not change the entire combination. Maybe they could go in for a couple of changes. The aim should be to win the remaining three games."
"That is how you become the number one side in the world."
Akram heaped praises on Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir.
"Sehwag looked dangerous on Sunday. He was simply superb. As for Yuvraj, he played all the shots possible in the book. He played the cut shot, he hooked, he pulled and did everything he could with the bat."
"Gambhir just carried on with his consistency. This is a confident India unit."
"The ball comes on nicely to the bat in Bangalore and the Indian batsmen took full advantage of that."
The highest wicket-taker in ODI's said the Indian team was clicking well as a unit: "If the bowlers don't perform, the batsmen do. If the batsmen fail, the bowlers make it up with some brilliant spells."
"The Indian fast bowlers are in fine form. Zaheer Khan hardly gave away any runs and picked up two crucial wickets. Ishant Sharma was a little expensive but he was amongst the wickets as well. As for Munaf Patel, he has been improving with every outing."
Akram said England never had much of a chance chasing a revised target of 198 runs from 22 overs against a confident Indian side.
"England never looked like being in with a chance. Andrew Flintoff, Owais Shah and Paul Collingwood got important runs under pressure but that would never have been enough."
The cricketer-turned-commentator said even though the Bangalore ODI was hit by rain, it turned out to be a great contest.
"It really was a good match and India put in a great performance."
"India would be high after this win while England would certainly be a little low on morale."
