Indian cricketers return home

Eight of India's 15-member squad, including Mumbai's Sachin Tendulkar, headed home after the England series was scrapped.

Tendulkar along with Zaheer Khan, Rohit Sharma, Munaf Patel, Irfan and Yusuf Pathan boarded a Mumbai flight at 6 pm on Thursday, around 45 minutes after Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir left for Delhi at 5.15 pm.

Bowling and fielding coaches Venkatesh Prasad and Robin Singh also left the city on Thursday.

The Indian team were next scheduled to play its sixth match in Guwahati on Sunday while the seventh and final ODI was slated to be played in Delhi under floodlights.

India were leading the series 5-0.

Over 100 people, including nine foreigners, and some policemen have lost their lives while about 300 people were injured in the worst terror attacks seen in the country in which desperate men fired indiscriminately at people.
