Sachin reaches yet another landmark
Sachin Tendulkar on Friday became the eleventh batsman to aggregate more than 2,000 runs against two teams in Test cricket.
Sachin blasted debutant Graeme Sewann for a huge six over mid-wicket to reach 2,000 runs against England.
Tendulkar likes to reserve his special moments for England. It was against them that he brought up the first of his 40 centuries as a teenager, new on the blocks, with promises to deliver.
Tendulkar has already rattled up 2,748 runs against Australia, which makes him only the 11th batsman in the history of Test cricket to total 2,000 runs or more against two opponents.
"Thank God! I play in Sachin's team"
Wally Hammond of England achieved this feat against Australia (2852) and South Africa (2188) while the legendary Geoff Boycott, again from England rattled up 2945 runs against Australia and 2205 against West Indies.
The others in the list are: Allan Border of Australia against England (3548) and West Indies(2052), Desmond Haynes of the West Indies against England (2392) and Australia (2233), Vivian Richards of the West Indies against England (2869) and Australia (2266), Graham Gooch of England against Australia (2632) and the West Indies (2197), Steve Waugh of Australia against England (3200) and the West Indies (2192), Brian Lara of the West Indies against England (2983) and Australia (2856).
The only two batsmen to have done this against three teams are Clive Lloyd of the West Indies against India (2344), Australia (2211) and England (2120) and Sunil Gavaskar against the West Indies (2749), England (2483) and Pakistan (2089).
Tendulkar may have spent nearly two decades as cricket's biggest star but records will still continue to tumble at his feet.
