Gambhir ton lights up dull day one
Gautam Gambhir's century and a resilient, unbeaten 65 by Rahul Dravid marked a solid day for India despite an early exit for Sehwag.
Stumps, India 179 for one
Dravid and Gambhir were looking solid in the middle till bad light forced players back to the pavilion. Gambhir is unbeaten on 106 while Dravid is still out there on 65. The two have steered India to a wonderful position after the hosts lost Virender Sehwag was sent back for a duck by Stuart Broad.
An hour and five minutes was lost on day one which means play will start half an early on Saturday to make up for lost time. Join us for all the action tomorrow.

Gambhir kept up his great momentum right through the year, bringing up his fourth Test ton and third this year. What a special player the Delhi lad has turned out to be.
Tea, India 134 for one
Gambhir and Dravid carried their bat through the second session to take India to a great position. 'The Wall', who brought up his fifty moments before tea, is looking settled and determined to settle in for a long haul. Gambhir, on the other hand is looking as fluent ever.
Gambhir's consistent run of success continued against England in Mohali as he brought up his second successive fifty of the series.
Lunch, India 51 for one
India lost Virender Sehwag early on day one but were well guided by Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid, who consolidated the innings till lunch. Stuart Broad was easily the pick of the England bowlers, snapping up Sehwag and bowling some nasty ones at Dravid, who did his best to dig in. Andrew Flintoff, too bowled a fiery little spell. However, India would draw heart from Gambhir, who looked like his consistent self right through the innings.
The second session of play will see some interesting cricket in the offing.

Late start on the cards
The umpires just came out to check the light in Mohali and by the look of things, the toss would be delayed by just a while. In other words, a late start on the cards.
Pre-Action
Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh instrumented a sensational win in Chennai in the first Test. Now, all eyes would be once again on Tendulkar as he lies on the verge of rattling up his third successive ton. However, it would be Yuvraj who will draw the maximum attention of Mohali, Yuvi's homeground. And, Rahul Dravid bat at number three, so that speculation can rest now. England, rest assured, will make a fight for it.
