Pak to tour Bangladesh in March

Pakistan will tour Bangladesh to play five one-day matches in March next year before hosting Australia in April.

Pakistan Cricket Board chief operating officer Saleem Altaf said the tour to Bangladesh, a part of ICC Future Tours Programme, would start from March 3.

"We will play five one-dayers in Bangladesh which is according to FTP," he said.

Altaf said the postponed one-day series against the world champions would be held from April 23, regardless of Australia raising security concerns about playing in Pakistan.

Ready to play at neutral venues

Altaf said the first priority was to play the ODI series against Australia in Pakistan but the PCB was also ready to play the matches even at neutral venues.

"Cricket Australia has confirmed to us officially they would like to start the series from April 23," Altaf said.

"The first priority is they play in Pakistan. If not then the series would be held at neutral venues. We have given them the option of playing the one-dayers at neutral venues. We have to have the series at whatever venue because we need to generate revenues," Altaf said.

"For the time being they are confirmed to tour Pakistan and play the first match in Karachi. But wait and see if security issues are again raised by the time their tour approaches. The other option is to play the matches at neutral venues," he added.

After India scrapped its tour of Pakistan, PCB invited Sri Lanka to play three Tests and five one-dayers in January next year but it has also come under a cloud after the Sri Lankan sports minister sacked the interim cricket committee headed by former captain Arjuna Ranatunga.
