Bangladesh vs SL 1st Test
The first Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is underway at the SBNS in Dhaka after a delayed start due to fog.
Lunch report
Sri Lanka made a steady start to the first Test with Bangladesh, progressing to 27 for one at lunch on day one in Mirpur.
Heavy fog at Shere Bangla National Stadium delayed the start of the match by one hour 45 minutes, but once the umpires deemed play could start Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat.
Mashrafe Mortaza trapped Malinda Warnapura leg before wicket for 14 before Michael Vandort (five not out) and Kumar Sangakkara (one not out) saw the tourists through to the interval.
The first Test will last six days with a rest day taking place on December 29 as no play is possible due to parliamentary elections.
And Mahela Jayawardene's were in no hurry in the first session, scoring at a rate of 2.25 runs per over.
Warnapura received a reprieve in the seventh over when wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim could not quite claim the ball in front of his face after Mortaza's fierce delivery.
But Mortaza got his men in his next over as the ball nipped in to remove Warnapura lbw.
Vandort was then joined in the middle by Sangakkara and the duo survived unscathed until the lunch break.
