Argentina, Afghanistan, Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea & Uganda will fight for a spot in Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

Argentina, Afghanistan, Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea and Uganda will fight amongst themselves in the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 from January 24-31 in Buenos Aires for the remaining two spots with the finalists progressing to the 12-team ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in April.

Subsequently, ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier will see the top four sides getting their places confirmed for the ICC World Cup 2011 to be jointly hosted by the sub-continent nations.

It is also recommended that the top six teams in the tournament will receive ODI status for the next four years as well as an automatic place in the prestigious ICC Intercontinental Cup 2009-10.

Afghanistan, which won both the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 and 5 events concluded earlier, will be seen as the favorite to get through further.

Afghanistani team had a training camp in Lahore, where they received coaching from the former Pakistan Test player Aamir Sohail.
