Warner signs for Durham

Australia one-day batsman David Warner will join Durham as their overseas Twenty20 Cup player this summer.

The 22-year-old left-hander, who also plays international Twenty20 cricket, will represent Delhi Daredevils in the IPL before arriving in the north east towards the end of May.

Warner will remain with Durham for the Twenty20 Cup competition before West Indian counterpart Shivnarine Chanderpaul arrives in June following international commitments.

"I've heard great things about Durham and I'm delighted to be joining them later this year," Warner said.

"The team has done really well recently and I want to be able to play a major role in making sure that success continues.

"I enjoy playing Twenty20 cricket and to be brought in especially to play in the UK's domestic competition is a real honour and challenge."
