Afghan cricket chief condemns attack

The Afghanistan Cricket Board joined the world community in denouncing yesterday's terror attack on Sri Lankan players in Lahore.

At least six cricketers sustained injuries in the attacks.

Masked gunmen opened fire and hurled grenades at the bus carrying the Sri Lanka cricket team to the Gaddafi stadium for the second and final Test against Pakistan.

"We deeply regret and condemn this terrorist attack on Sri Lankan players," Afghanistan Cricket Board president Allah Dad Nori said in a statement.

"It is very upsetting for the cricket community that some of the Sri Lanka players and one match official had been injured in this attack. At this time our thoughts and prayers are with the injured people and also the families of those who have died," he said.
