Former New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming feels charismatic Indian skipper MS Dhoni will get even better with time.

Having won their first one-day series in New Zealand, Dhoni's men earned another slice of history today as they clinched their first Test series there in 41 years.

Highly impressed by Dhoni's leadership, Fleming said the Indian would only get better with time.

"He is a brilliant player. People talk only about his ability to lead. But he is a versatile player as well and leads by example...Technically, he goes with his instinct," Fleming said of his Chennai Super Kings captain.

"Dhoni is a nice guy"

"Off the field, he is humble and has taken success in his stride. Dhoni is a very impressive guy who would get only better with experience," he tolda news channel.

Talking about the Indian team as a while, Fleming said the side is among the top three at the moment.

"I think they are pretty close, along with Australia and South Africa. The players are not just good but great and they have a great captain, good seamers, genuine all-rounders," Fleming said.

Fleming, however, was a tad disappointed with the pitches in New Zealand which traditionally used to ask all sorts of uncomfortable questions to the batsmen.

"I'm really disappointed. The charm of playing overseas was to adapt to different conditions. When coming to India, we knew pitches would assist spin, in Australia pitches would have bounce and in New Zealand there used to be both seam and bounce.

"I'm really disappointed because there is nothing wrong if the bowlers dominate a series. In fact, it's good for the game because you cannot have big scores all the time," he added.
