Clarke urges Australia to attack

Michael Clarke wants his team to continue attacking in the field after Australia came within a win of sealing a series victory.

Clarke's men did not grass a chance as Australia gained an important 2-1 lead with a 27-run victory in Abu Dhabi.

Among the highlights was a fine diving catch by recalled star Andrew Symonds, who is regarded as one of the best fielders in the world.

"I think it's just the attitude, no matter what we're going to have a go. If there's an opportunity to try and dive and take a good catch we're going to have a crack at it," Clarke told Fox Sports.

"If we drop it so be it. If we see an opportunity to get a run out we're going to throw the ball.

"I think that's how we field our best, if we've got that intent and that attitude I think you'll see Australia field their best like that."

Australia's impressive display in the field helped it defend what appeared to be a modest total.

"They have only 198 and they still make it every hard for us," said Pakistan captain Younus Khan.

Clarke said off-spinner Nathan Hauritz, who claimed two for 25 in 10 overs, played an important role.

"We said when we were batting it was really hard to score off the spinners," Clarke said.

Clarke said Australia's middle order batted well to scramble to 200 but admitted there was still room for improvement.

The fourth match will be played in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
