Clarke to sit out of T20 Clash
Australia's stand-in skipper Michael Clarke will be rested for the one-off T20 international against Pakistan on Thursday.
The selectors have confirmed this on Sunday.
Clarke, who was named captain for the series in place of regular captain Ricky Ponting, had led his team to a 3-1 one-day series win over Pakistan with a match to spare.
The 28-year-old Clarke will now fly home to prepare for the World Twenty20 and the Ashes which follows, selection panel chairman Andrew Hilditch said.
"The national selection panel has recommended Clarke be released from the last Twenty20 match in Dubai to allow him a few additional days (rest) for next month's World Cup and the Ashes," Hilditch said.
Wicketkeeper batsman Brad Haddin, who led Australia in a Twenty20 game against New Zealand in February, will captain the side for the final match of the tour.
Ponting was rested for the series along with Michael Hussey and Mitchell Johnson.
