Malinga makes Sri Lanka squad
Sri Lanka on Monday included fast bowler Lasith Malinga in their 15-man squad for the World Twenty20 in England in June.
Malinga, who has been suffering from a persistent knee injury, returned to competitive cricket only last month when he turned out for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
Selectors have also chosen uncapped all-rounder Isuru Udana and 35-year-old middle order batsman Indika de Saram, but have dropped Chamara Kapugedera and have overlooked experienced fast bowler Chaminda Vaas.
The tournament will be Sri Lanka's first international outing since the terrorist attack on the team in Lahore in March and will be Kumar Sangakkara's first assignment since being named captain.
Squad: Kumar Sangakkara (captain), Muttiah Muralitharan, Sanath Jayasuriya, Tillekaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayewardene, Chamara Silva, Angelo Mathews, Ajantha Mendis, Thilan Thushara, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Isuru Udana, Farveez Maharoof, Jehan Mubarak, Indika de Saram.
