Asif returns home to appear before PCB
Suspended Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif returned home from England to appear before an inquiry committee.
The inquiry committee has been set up by the PCB on June 3 to hear the final outcome of the probe into his 19-day ordeal in Dubai.
Sources close to Asif said he had returned home because he wanted to clear his case with the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The inquiry committee headed by former Test captain Wasim Bari had taken strong notice of Asif's visit to England while the probe was on and had advised him to appear in person for the June 3 hearing.
The committee had asked Asif to produce documentary evidence that he is not barred from entering Dubai after his 19-day detention there last year on charges of possession of opium.

Asif claimed that he had submitted a valid Dubai visa and said there was no ban on his entry into the emirate state.
Bari, however, made it clear that the inquiry committee want documents from the Dubai authorities confirming that there was no restriction on Asif's entry into the emirate nation.
Sources close to Asif also said the pacer is planning to return back to England to play county cricket after getting clearance from the inquiry committee.
Incidentally, the right-arm pacer is also serving a year's ban for having tested positive during the inaugural Indian Premier League last year.
