"Cricket will re-establish goodwill"
Australian Senate is relying on Australia and India cricket teams to "re-establish the goodwill" between the two countries.
Especially after the alleged racial attacks on students of sub-continent origin Down Under.
West Australian Liberal Chris Back, who's been associated with India in the past, told the Senate that Ricky Ponting and his men could iron out the situation.
"Do not underestimate the value of cricket in possibly mending these relationships," Back said.
"I'm not being flippant. If we do need to mend those bridges do not overlook the value of Australian and Indian cricketers in trying to re-establish that goodwill," he was quoted as saying by the 'Herald Sun'.
Senator Back also said he believed Australia was the "second favorite" destination for Indian students behind the United States.
