Symonds returns home to Brisbane

Andrew Symonds returned home to Brisbane on Saturday just 24 hours after he was sent home from the ICC World T20 in England.

Symonds, 33, was sent back to Australia before the tournament started following an alcohol-related incident which was in breach of team rules and was swiftly replaced by Cameron White.

He now faces an uncertain international future after Cricket Australia announced his contract in under review.

"I've got a fair bit to consider I suppose and I appreciate you all coming out here this morning and I will come out and make a full proper statement when I've gathered my thoughts and sat down with friends," he said.

Australia begin their World Twenty20 campaign against the West Indies at the Oval on Saturday.
