More Bangla players file for amnesty

Seven more Bangladeshi cricketers, aligned to the ICL, have filed applications to return to the official fold.

This leaves only two players from the country with the 'rebel' league.

Shahriar Nafees, Aftab Ahmed, Alok Kapali, Nazimuddin, Mohammad Sharif, Forhad Reza and Golam Mabud submitted 'letters of intent' at the Bangladesh Cricket Board headquarters at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, a week ahead of the deadline, according to a report in 'Daily Star'.

The BCB has decided to allow Bangladeshi cricketers aligned with the ICL to participate in domestic cricket subject to the termination of their contract with the rebel league by June 15.

With these seven players, the total number of Bangladeshi cricketers who have applied for return to official fold has reached 12.

Habibul Bashar was the first to come forward to take the opportunity of "amnesty" announced by the BCB and then Mosharraf Rubel, Manjurul Islam, Tapash Baishya and Mahbubul Karim joined his footsteps.

The two remaining players, out of the total 14 cricketers who signed up with the ICL, are veteran Mohammad Rafique and wicketkeeper Dhiman Ghosh, and the duo is expected to apply for amnesty soon.
