India team's manager for the ICC World T20, V Chamundeshwarnath, denied charges of corruption and favouritism.

Charges of corruption and favouritism have been levelled against him by Andhra Cricket Association (ACA).

Chamundeshwarnath, who was the ACA general secretary, was relieved of his duties by the executive committee on Thursday following allegations of corruption and favouritism in team selection.

"There are false allegations"

Chamundeshwarnath would now be asked to defend himself at the General Body Meeting scheduled next month.

The former cricketer faces allegations of corruption in the purchase of chairs for an IPL match, which was planned to be organised in Visakhapatnam.

"They are saying that I have bought the chairs for the IPL matches and made some money out of it. That's the false allegation they are making," Chamundeshwarnath said.

He questioned the validity and timing of the meeting since he was out of country with the national team.

"When I am out of the town to have an executive committee meeting in itself is illegal because I am the person who should confer the meeting. With a manipulating intention they have done it. When I go back (to India), will sort out the things, no problem," he told a news channel.

It was alleged that Chamundeshwarnath had shown favouritism during selection of an under-19 women's squad.

"They are saying that favours have done during the U-19 selections. But that selection will be done by the women's selectors. If they talk like that, nobody can help them," he said.
