England to name extended Ashes squad
England are set to name an extended 16-member squad on Monday for the Ashes training camp and a warm-up match.
The final squad for the Ashes is expected to be picked from amongst these 16 players on the basis of their showing at the camp and the three-day match against Warwickshire at Edgbaston, which starts on July 1.
One prominent name, who is in the line for selection is former England skipper Michael Vaughan, who has not represented the country since the third Test against South Africa last year, when he had resigned as captain.
Meanwhile, Monty Panesar and Stephen Harmison are also in contention for a recall.
The Lions (A-side) squad is also scheduled to be announced on Monday. The A-side will face Australia in a four-day match, which is also beginning on July 1.
The first Ashes Test begins at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on July 8.
