SLC have arranged for the deployment of over 100 security personnel to protect the visiting Pakistan team.

The Pakistan team arrived in Colombo on Sunday for a series comprising three-Tests, five one-dayers and a twenty20 international starting next week.

SLC have put in place stringent security measures to ensure there are no attacks on the Pakistan team such as the one carried out by terrorists on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore in March.

"We have arranged for as many as 100 security personnel to safeguard the Pakistan team," Senanayke said.

"Particular attention has been paid to ensure foolproof security along the routes from their hotel to match venues.

"A strong security detail will accompany the team on the way to the stadiums."

The Sri Lankan team bus was attacked by armed gunmen while it was on its way to the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore during the Test series in March this year.

Several Sri Lankan cricketers were injured in the incident, though none of them seriously.

Pakistan's series against Sri Lanka begins with the first Test in Galle on July 4.
