Prior, Haddin similar type of players
Alec Stewart feels Matt Prior and Brad Haddin are both dangerous batsmen, reports Cricket Extra’s Supriyo Goswami.
Prior averages 50-mark, while, Brad Haddin, who had a big task to follow the foot-steps of the great Adam Gilchrist, has now firmly established himself in the Australian team.
"But the media seems to jump on Prior's back on every opportunity - be it small or big error," said Stewart, who is the most capped English Test cricketer of all time.
"I am not asking people to see how well he has been keeping wickets. He is improving by the day. And we all know how fine batsman as well as a keeper he is.
"Prior is working with Bruce French, who is wicket-keeper advisor to England Cricket Team. He can take him consistency forward, which is good. Prior looks very natural. Previously he looked a little bit manufactured, but he is a great athlete," added stewart.
Talking about Haddin, the former England player said, "Haddin is a dangerous batsman and an impressive character. He is coming out in at no.7 but he is not as attacking as Gilchrist, so he must come out early," said Stewart.
When Stewart was asked to pick his favourite wicket-keeper out of the two, he opted for the English man.
He said, "Obviously I would say Englishman every time. But I haven't seen Haddin enough -- how he catches the ball, etc but he is a good cricketer."
