Pak turn down Bangla offer

Pakistan have turned down an offer from the BCB to play the postponed one-day series between the two countries in October.

Bangladesh were to host Pakistan for five one-dayers and a Twenty20 international in March but the series had to be postponed due to security concerns.

"Bangladesh could not host us in March due to non clearance from their government but now they invited us to schedule the series in October which is not possible for us," a senior official of the Pakistan board said today.

He said PCB had asked their Bangladeshi counterparts to find a window in Future Tours Programme for the series at some other time as Pakistan would play New Zealand in October.

"We play four one-dayers and two T20 internationals against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in October soon after the Champions Trophy," Saleem Altaf, the chief operating officer of PCB, told PTI.

"Another reason we can't play Bangladesh in October is under ICC regulations there must be some gap after the Champions trophy for the players to take rest," he said.

Altaf also confirmed that Pakistan has agreed to play three Tests in New Zealand in early December.

"Basically our home series will now be played in two parts -- ODIs and Twenty20 International in the UAE and three Tests in New Zealand," Altaf said.
