Bangladesh hopeful over WI Tests
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has been assured that the Test series against West Indies will go ahead as planned.
The West Indies players have threatened a boycott of the series due to a contractual dispute with their national board.
West Indies Players Association president Dinanath Ramnarine had announced on Tuesday night that their members had withdrawn from the series, which is due to get under way in St Vincent on Thursday.
The Windies players have reportedly opted to return to their homes rather than prepare for the first Test.
BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus has expressed his concern over the situation but expects the match to go ahead.
"We have seen the reports in the media and have expressed our concern to the team management," he said.
"We haven't heard anything officially from the West Indies board.
"It's West Indies Cricket Board's internal affair.
"The match referee (Andy Pycroft) has assured the team that the match will go ahead as planned."
The Tigers are scheduled to play two Tests, three one-dayers and a Twenty20 international in the Caribbean.
