India will take on hosts Sri Lanka in their opening match of a tri-series in September, also featuring New Zealand.

The first match of the series would be between Sri Lanka and New Zealand on September 8.

The September 10 India-Sri Lanka game would be followed by a match between India and New Zealand on September 12.

The top two teams will lock horns in final of the short series on September 14. All the four matches would be played at the Premadasa stadium.

The series would be preceded by New Zealand's Test tour to the island nation in August-September.
