England discard pacer Simon Jones has the chance to revive his career at Hampshire after being axed by Worcestershire county.

Jones, one of England's 2005 Ashes heroes, will not get another contract at New Road after being ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Hampshire coach Giles White is ready to offer the pace ace, 30, a pay-as-you-play deal at the Rose Bowl.

"Simon has an excellent record so we'll have a chat with him this week," White was quoted as saying in 'the Sun'.
