Younus Khan has refused to reconsider his decision to retire from Twenty20 cricket and play the one-off game against SL.

Pakistan captain Younus Khan has refused to reconsider his decision to retire from Twenty20 cricket and lead Pakistan in the one-off game against Sri Lanka.

Younus retired from the limited-overs format immediately after leading Pakistan to victory in the World Twenty20 in England.

Pakistan's tour of Sri Lanka culminates with a Twenty20 game in Colombo next month, but Younus has reiterated that the team would have to find another captain for that game.

"My decision is final," said the 31-year-old. "I don't consider myself fit enough for this format of the game.

"I had made the decision to retire even before we won the World Cup, so its final.

"I just want to focus and concentrate on building up a strong Test and one-day side," he said.

Format

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt had said he was confident he could convince Younus to stay at the helm for all formats of the game.

But Younus insists the PCB chairman had not spoken to him about his retirement as yet.

"The PCB chairman was here in Sri Lanka, but he didn't speak to me about retirement," Younus said.

"We have also spoken on the phone, but nothing has been said about retirement.

"I sincerely believe that Pakistan has a number of world class players ideally suited for T20 cricket so there is no dearth of talent for this form of the game.

"There are enough players in the team capable of captaining the side as well."
