Shane Bond on comeback trail

Fast bowler Shane Bond hopes to revive his international career with New Zealand A in the Buchi Babu All-India invitation tournament this month following a series of glucose injections in his back.
Bond, who had spinal surgery several years ago after suffering repeated stress fractures to the back, has been having courses of prolotherapy to ease tightness in his lower back.
"It's been the best thing I've ever had for it," the 34-year-old told The Press newspaper.
"It relaxes the back, loosens it up and makes a massive difference. I've got a few screws and wires in there and it can make the back pretty tight but this just frees it up."
Bond has severed his ties with the rebel Indian Cricket League and has been welcomed back into the international fold by New Zealand Cricket almost two years after he last played for the Black Caps at the inaugural Twenty20 tournament in South Africa.
He has already been named in New Zealand's one-day squad for their series against Sri Lanka and India next month.
The pace bowler is hoping to use the tournament with the A team in India - where he caught the eye of national selectors for the first time eight years ago - to get valuable time in the middle and overs under his belt.
If all goes well he will then head to Sri Lanka to join up with the senior side.
