B'desh will play Asia Cup, insists BCB

Efforts are being made by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to participate in the Asia Cup next year.

This was cofirmed by Enayat Hossain Siraj, the chairman of the cricket operations committee, BCB.

Speaking from Dhaka on Sunday, he said, "We will participate in the Asia Cup, scheduled to be held from June 15 to 25 next year.

"The venue is yet to be decided but our team will participate in England for the two Test matches (May 27-31 at Lord's and June 4-8 at Old Trafford, Manchester) first and return to play the Asia Cup and will again travel to England to participate in the three ODIs' scheduled to take place on July 8 (Nottigham), 10 (Bristol) and 12 (Edgbaston)."

The BCB's Media Director Jalal Younis is soon expected to clear the air and doubts about Bangladesh's participation in the Asia Cup.
