Ryan Harris to join Yorkshire

Australian paceman Ryan Harris will join Yorkshire as their overseas player next season.

The 30-year-old, who has one one-day international cap, had a brief spell with Surrey this summer and will help fill the void left by Matthew Hoggard's release.

Yorkshire have also lost Deon Kruis, who has retired, and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, who had been the county's overseas player. Harris played and impressed for Queensland last winter and made his one-day debut against South Africa in January before a foot injury scuppered his Test ambitions.

"When I got the call asking me if I wanted to go and play in Yorkshire I jumped at the chance," said Harris.

"When I was playing with Darren Lehmann he would come back to Adelaide and always talk about Yorkshire and he really enjoyed his time there and it will be great to get over and see where he is a very much-liked person. It's good to be going to what sounds like a very passionate club."
