He played most sports growing up but showed particular interest and skills in soccer and baseball - the latter proving to be his sport of choice. Interestingly, Fingleson has played club level cricket too.
Speaking from Australia, he said, "I will try and utilise my baseball skills while working with the Lankans. I am currently associated with the New South Wales team on a part time basis."
It was the head coach of the Sri Lankan team Trevor Bayliss, a former NSW player, who suggested Fingleson's name to the SLC.
Fingleson said that he will be arriving in Sri Lanka soon and would like to meet the skipper Kumar Sangakkara.
"I am reaching Colombo shortly and would discuss the nature of my work and the number of trips I have to make to this Isand nation for training.
"I will try and prepare a good fielding side by 2011 World Cup, he said.
Prior to founding Biologix Health, Gavin was involved in a number of fitness related businesses, including personal training and Baseball coaching clinics.
