SL vs BP XI: Rains rule out play
The first day’s play between the Board President’s XI and Sri Lanka was washed out after rains lashed Mumbai on Wednesday.
The Board President’s XI led by India discard Rohit Sharma were to take on the Lankans today for a practice game ahead of the visitor’s first Test against India in Ahmedabad on November 16.
Heavy rains left the ground in unplayable conditions and umpires decided to call off the first day's proceedings.
This three-day match is the only opportunity for the Lankans to get match-practice before the start of the three Test Series, beginning November 16 at Ahmedabad.
The other two matches are scheduled to be played at Kanpur (November 24-28) and Mumbai (December 2-6).
Mumbai, alongwith some other West India cities is on the path of a cyclone predicted to hit today.
Consequently, India’s seventh and final ODI against Australia, scheduled to be played at the DY Patil Stadium is also under threat of a washout.
