Doug Bollinger gets Test call
Doug Bollinger is in contention to play his second Test for Australia after being recalled in place of Stuart Clark in the 12-man squad for next week's opening Test against West Indies at the Gabba.
Selectors have made just one change to the squad that represented Australia in the fifth Test against England in August, with veteran New South Wales seam bowler Clark losing his place to his younger state team-mate Bollinger.
All-rounder Shane Watson, who replaced young gun Phil Hughes at the top of the order for the third Test in England, will again open the batting with Simon Katich, ahead of skipper and number three Ricky Ponting.
Mike Hussey has also been retained despite struggling for form in the Test arena in England, his century in the final Test at The Oval possibly earning him a reprieve, while Michael Clarke has dispelled fears over his fitness after being forced to rest for two months.
Struck down again by the back injury that has bothered him several times throughout his career, Clarke impressed with his century for NSW in the first innings of the current Sheffield Shield against Tasmania at the SCG.

Fast bowler Peter Siddle has also been chosen despite being sent home early from the one-day tour of India with a side injury, with the bowling attack to be chosen from the Victorian, his fellow quicks Mitchell Johnson, Bollinger and Ben Hilfenhaus, and spinner Nathan Hauritz.
The selectors have largely maintained faith with the Ashes squad, with chairman Andrew Hilditch admitting they already have one eye on the return battle for the Ashes in Australia in 12 months' time.
"The squad includes only one change from the side which played the last Test of the Ashes series in England," said Hilditch.
"Stuart is extremely unlucky to miss selection but we have been very impressed with Doug's form in the recent ODI series in India and feel he deserves this opportunity in the Australian squad.
"Losing the Ashes was obviously extremely disappointing but the nucleus of the side performed very well individually.
"We're confident this young side will continue to develop as we move into this exciting Test series at home but also continue to prepare for an Ashes series, which is now only 12 months away."
Australia squad: Simon Katich, Shane Watson, Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Hussey, Michael Clarke, Marcus North, Brad Haddin (wk), Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Hauritz, Peter Siddle, Ben Hilfenhaus, Doug Bollinger.
