PCB mulls over sacking Intikhab Alam

The PCB is unhappy with the performance of the national team in the recent past and is now thinking about sacking coach Intikhab Alam.

Sources close to the Pakistani team told PakPassion.net that his position is under immense pressure due to the recent dismal team performance in Sri Lanka and Abu Dhabi.

"Two former Pakistan players are being lined up as an alternative to Intikhab," sources told the cricket website.

"The Board is not satisfied with the performances of the batting line up and the coach is being held responsible for the poor displays from the majority of the batsmen. It could be time for a change and a younger coach to be taken in time for the Australia series," the website reported.

It also said that his role was being closely scrutinised and he may get the axe after the New Zealand series.

Intikhab was the coach of the successful Pakistani team in the 1992 and 2009 World Cup.

Experts say a lot also depends on the team's performance in the on-going series against New Zealand.
